Review on πŸ“± MaxMiles Aluminum Universal Adjustable Cell Phone Holder: Perfect Bike Handlebar Mount for iPhone X XR, Samsung, and More! by Anthony Hales

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Metal construction is always preferable for all my bike accessories.

Sturdy construction, it arrived as good as I imagined from the pictures. One question, I don't recall the descriptions saying it might be mounted terrain - but it can. I suspected from the photos from the design that it could be side mounted so your phone is horizontal. So the order was a leap of faith. Luckily, the mount is actually designed so that the part holding the phone can be mounted at a 90-degree or 180-degree angle. It is actually a key connection between the two parts that is very well worked out. My intended use is to film all my bike rides again, but I haven't seen the point of lugging around a separate "action camera" since my ride is relatively short. I just record every commute and if nothing suspicious happens I just delete the video - like I always did when using a special "action camera" while living in a big city. Now that we live in a small town, the need didn't seem obvious at first, but there are too many violations on the roads that defy logic and require a record. It attaches securely to my handlebars and the stripe is barely visible in the picture, but it's enough to serve as proof that the camera is installed on my bike - should that be needed to prove it . The all-metal construction is a huge plus as it can be used year-round in any weather. The only downside is that it can be lifted by anyone with the correct size hex. So if you don't have secure storage at either end of the path, you may need to consider other options. One option would be to get some sort of special "key" hardware from some seat clamp manufacturers to secure the seat against theft, but that's expensive.
