Review on 6&quot Industrial Electrical: Powering Efficiency and Reliability by Dany Hamilton

I'm renovating my basement and wanted recessed lighting for a modern look. I learned that this type of light exists when there is a thin disc of LED powered by a small driver built into the drywall. The 6 inch light offers a good amount of even light, I have the 5000k version which is 'true' white. 4000k is more of a yellow-white light while 2700k/3000k is a warm yellow light. Personally I think that all ceiling lighting should be 5000K and lamps can be used at night with a 2700K to 4000K lamp. These LED lights are easy to install where there is existing wiring. For a new install you will need to do a little drilling (I used a fixed 6 3/8" saw, an adjustable one would be better), connect the driver box and then connect the box wire to the LED and clip it in place. It is much simpler than traditional built in lighting boxes and offers a much cleaner look. The best use for this type of light is in the bathroom above the shower/tub as it is considered airtight with the gasket provided. I would recommend fitting it in the vicinity of a wet area on a switch RCD and can also be easily darkened.
