I needed a physical device to turn the flashing camera and Zigbee door and window sensors on and off at the same time. The door and window sensors I have connect to my SmartThings hub, as does the button, but the flashing camera doesn't - it has its own app but is accessed via ifttt. In the SmartThings web app, I created a simulated switch (that was sort of the heart). In the smartThings mobile app, I have linked the sim switch to enable the sensors on power on and disable the sensors on power off. In IFTTT I linked turning on the sim switch to arming the camera and turning it on to disarming the camera. In the SmartThings mobile app, I associated a single button press with pressing the switch once, twice, and turning the switch off. Now it effectively activates and deactivates the camera and sensors with one touch when I enter or leave the house. .This all took about an hour. but overall it was relatively logical and simple. Works like a charm every time. Very easy to assemble with double-sided tape. Small and unobtrusive.
