Will not stop switching to Fahrenheit

Bought for COVID testing at my optometry practice. It won't stay in Fahrenheit. I can change it to Fahrenheit but next time it will be in Celsius. I followed the instructions correctly (and some of my colleagues tried too) and it doesn't stay on F. We just learned what we need to know to use it in C.
