Tried 3 different drill bits to drill a new hole in a stainless steel sink. (Including one from the local hardware store, we were assured it would work. ) Finally ordered it. And within minutes of starting (make sure you use the oil on both the drill and the sink) we had a perfectly round hole to put a dish soap dispenser in. Upon completion (there we assumed that one drill bit would be useless for another job) we were surprised to find that we had just used a small amount of diamond dust. Hooray! Good for later jobs. The only downside is that they don't have a center rail, so you need to make sure it's exactly where you want it and it's in the right place keep. As for the happening of almost anything, then yes, indeed. Including stainless steel.
