Bought these for my son's 4th birthday. His father grew up playing hockey and is an avid hockey fan. His child is brought up that way. This set is easy to use with another friend while standing indoors or outdoors. He also trains with his father, but his father will either be sitting cross-legged or on his knees. in the basement on my knees trying to score a goal across the room with this set. So let's hope his son enjoys this set for at least a few years. In terms of quality, it was surprisingly good for a plastic set. The sticks are definitely made of "high impact plastic" and not flimsy junk. I bought the Bruins version and the logos on both racquets (black and white racquets) and the styrofoam balls looked great. When I bought them, the description didn't mention "free mesh" so I didn't have the same problem as some other buyers. That's a bummer and hopefully other buyers won't have to deal with it. I'll try to politely say that's not the case when you're trying to buy a truly functional hockey stick that your kid can take to the ice. And that no matter how small or small your kid is, even if your little one is skating and ready for hockey, you won't find them. a real quality hockey stick that can be used on a real ice rink for less than $20. So don't hesitate to ignore some of these reviews. Or not.
