Preliminary summary: This is the sharpest lens I've ever used on a Pentax K-70. I've had a few pickups and a few multi-lens DSLRs, but I finally settled on the K-70 when I realized it had pretty much everything I was looking for in one feature set: two dials. , weather protection, full motion screen, 2-axis electronic level, etc. I love going to zoos and natural areas, so I knew right away that I needed a good zoom lens. I've read reviews of older Pentax 55-300 models and was concerned about their noise and slow autofocus, so I'm glad they designed and bought this camera. From the very first shots I noticed that he was an absolute goalkeeper. I don't shoot in RAW, and cropping is a big part of my processing, so it's great to be able to get these images unedited. In addition to the 55-300, I had the 18-135 and the Sigma 17-50/2.8 and recently got the Pentax 16-85 and the 50-135/2.8. I get sharp images with all of these lenses, but none of these lenses are as reliable as the 55-300. Every image is sharp (aside from a few due to operator error), autofocus is very fast and rarely flickers, color reproduction is great, and bokeh is great. I shot most of the (outdoor) wedding and the entire (outdoor) portrait with this lens and am very happy with the results. I hope Revain adds the photo attachments correctly, as these images need to be visible (again, no zero post-processing was used here). Just great. If I didn't need the occasional wide-angle shot of landscapes and interiors, this lens wouldn't leave my camera. My highest recommendation.
