I'm almost pissed at how good this grid system is. I have a 3,500 square foot house, about 80 feet deep, 40 feet wide, two stories and an unfinished basement. I used to have three (3!) Linksys WRT3200ACM loaded with DD-WRT aftermarket firmware. I spent two years trying to get these things to work like a mesh system and it was awful. Devices kept losing connection, poor coverage even with three cool routers, and phones couldn't roam the house. I had to manually turn Wi-Fi on and off as I moved around the house. I have about 40 devices at home, about 30 of which are IoT home automation devices. Living area 3500 sqm. Feet, but I also have outdoor cameras, sensors, and door sensors in an unfinished basement, so I really needed a lot of coverage. When I bought the Orbi 6 dual-satellite system, I hooked it up thinking that I would run into all sorts of problems and spend a year tweaking and configuring it. Not so. It really, quite frankly, just worked. I'm not a WiFi expert, but I'm not a newbie either, and I've spent the last two years reading and learning WiFi to fix my DD-WRT configuration. But Orbi doesn't even give you more than a few screens to customize. A lot of people will probably see this as a downside, and I did that at first, but after a few days I found that it just worked. I didn't have to adjust anything. I was almost angry because I thought maybe there is something special about my house and my devices that makes WiFi a problem. nope Orbi is simply an excellent product. I only gave 4 stars because I still think some configuration options are missing and it annoys me that the configuration app keeps trying to sell me protection plans and cyber options. But in the end, this is an excellent router. All my devices connect seamlessly, stay connected and I can roam the house with my phone, with maybe a 1 second switching delay when walking from one end of the house to the other. I get great speeds, and even cheap IoT devices that had pairing and connection issues on my other routers connect to Orbi almost instantly. I don't get it and I'm still angry that I spent two years using anything else, but this product knocked it out of the park.
