These spice jars are my favorite home purchase this year! Well if they are that good why only 4 stars? Why not 5 instead!? I'm so glad you asked. Here is my 100% honest review of these guys. Firstly I see a lot of people downgrading the quality, to be honest that's why 4 stars vs 5. But honestly when you consider the price I really wish they were a 4.5 star option! Here are my complaints. The magnet is not very strong. Of course, mine are on the fridge, which means I have this thing open and closed all the time. No one has fallen yet, but we have had some issues with slipping. I learned very quickly to only fill half the heavier ones like salt. I think if they were stationary this problem would probably fix itself, but barring the purchase of a special magnetic board. The only magnetic surface in my kitchen large enough to be easily accessible is the refrigerator. I think that applies to most people, so it's a disadvantage. Next, still on quality, we have an issue with lids not fitting quite right. For me, they were difficult to put on and easy to slip off. it doesn't make sense, I totally understand that, but unfortunately it's true. Be careful when removing the magnetic surface, don't just take the cover off the base or it will slide off. I have to say I love her despite everything! You have so many sticker options. I need to buy another set, but even then I don't technically need any more stickers. I was so worried I would have to use a blank label and then they wouldn't all look the same (yes I know I'm a geek). Luckily I have a sticker for everything plus some! I also like spout options: full fill and moving dots. I've found that if you need something like cayenne pepper, you can just rotate it so you're using one strainer hole instead of all four. I understand how easy it is, but with most spice bottles you only have one choice and you have to be very careful. I can restrict myself here. These things come in very handy when baking or creating a new recipe that requires you to measure out the spices! I used to have to either pour the spice into the measuring spoon or hope it fits in the bottle, it's so easy to take the lid off and scoop the right amount with it. The hole is big enough so if you fall or need to flatten the spoon you don't make a mess, it just falls back into the glass! For the price this is an absolute bargain and to be honest they look amazing in all the photos. seen. For me, they didn't really clutter my counter. I had a shelf but the bottles were all different so I put a few on the counter in front of the shelf anyway. Personally, I like to mix my own seasoning, too, so I'd keep the old bottles and remove the label for taco seasoning and cajun seasoning. Now I have a shiny shaped tin to stick it in! I couldn't be happier. Buy it! You will love them despite some problems.
