The rods were the exact size and the material was smooth. However, I couldn't, and it might be my fault, to find a good glue to glue it to the plywood. I tried double sided tape and CA glue. Tape was marginal and glue useless. I've searched the internet for a suitable solution, but haven't found anything. I gave them up and went to Kreg's jig and jig to finish my sled (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002QZ4SA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). If you don't use them together, they'll probably be fine. Another tip I would like to give is to be careful not to inflate the stem when attaching it with bolts. I would not recommend this unless a solid adhesive solution can be found.
