Review on KeylessOption Keyless Entry Remote Flip Car Key Fob Blade - Uncut Blank Chip Transponder Replacement by Brian Potter

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Huge and heavy (and RKE doesn't work 2007-2010)

I got tired of carrying a long factory key in my pocket so I got this one. , it's more cumbersome than a clumsy factory key! It's also more than twice the weight - 59g versus 25g. I think it's a good paperweight? That's because I don't plan on actually cutting it. If I want a big heavy key fob I add one of those multi tools and leave the factory key fob. in a drawer so I cut it out. I was able to program it to start the car, but the keyless remote to lock and unlock the doors didn't work. I was able to reprogram it using the JScan app and the unlock button works exactly once. and then never again. The remote has a new battery, so the problem seems to be that the remote doesn't use the same rolling code algorithm that Chrysler uses. Therefore, the car will never recognize that more than one button is pressed. Chrysler redesigned the JK Wrangler in 2011 and used a new entry-level module so it *might* work in 2011-2018 Wranglers, but not 2007-2010.
