Depending on what you use those white markers or pens for, your vision may differ from mine. Personally, I will mainly use this set for writing birthday or Christmas cards, as well as a small black board that I have in the store :). The kids will likely be using this set a lot more than I have as they will enjoy decorating and designing their own postcards as well as many school projects later this year. All pens can be written on very well, fine and extra-fine pens have a small metal ball inside that has to be shaken like a spray can before use in order to mix the color inside. You probably have to pump or squeeze the tips several times for the color to really spread and then they're ready to use. Simply twist or press the top a few times (5 to 10) with the ultra-fine brush to let the color flow. Just a soft brush or marker is ready to use without shaking, pumping or twisting :). All four have really good tips for writing or drawing, smooth flow, no smearing of light milky white color. Depending on the surface to be painted, this white paint is waterproof, but is easier to remove from plastic surfaces than from paper surfaces, where it is very stubborn :).
