Review on Design Engineering 010402 Starter Shield by Michael Gupta

The starter heat shield was missing (although the bracket it attaches to was still there) and it was difficult to find a new or used replacement for my 91 VW Cabriolet. The dealer said there was one they could take out of the country, but it would cost over $100. So when I found the Versa Shield I was happy with the price but worried if it would be the right thing to do to protect the starter motor and solenoid from heat. Both turned out to be good. For the size the width was perfect but for the length I trimmed a bit but that was ok as it had to work in a way that was versatile along with the velcro strap being so wrapped in the material.
