These binoculars don't work in the evening or at night, but they won't work because its lens needs to be much larger than 25mm. Here's the thing: They focus great if you have good eyesight. If you wear glasses, they still work. BUT, if you wear glasses or contact lenses and your vision for one eyeball is vastly different from that for the other eyeball, there is no way to properly focus both eyepieces with a restricted focusing wheel. So binoculars will work, but not for both eyes if your eyesight is different for each eyeball. In this case, you can only use the binoculars with one eye while covering the other eye. Also the magnification is really not 12x, maybe more like 8x. Given the price, it's still worth buying for your kids.
