I like using the Roxant Blackbird scope. The mountains behind our house are about 4 miles away and I wanted something that could be a little more adaptable for wildlife viewing and settled on this 2019 Gosky model. I am impressed. The Gosky is better in almost every way, except for size, where it's about twice the size of the Roxant. Roxant is great because of its mobility, you can take it and sit on the hood of the car and look around the area. This Gosky is a bit bigger, but its performance is pretty damn good. His ability to focus on distant subjects is significantly better than Roxant's. The Gosky's focus wheel is also easier to use. One thing I noticed with Gosky is that zooming in/out on an object also always requires refocusing (not so much with Roxant). But the ease of focusing makes this a minor issue. As others have pointed out, the tripod isn't the best. However, my requirements are fully met. By the way, the tripod that comes with the Gosky and Roxant is almost identical. I like the Roxant for its size and it's handy for short distances (a few hundred yards or less). However, for my purposes (usually sitting on a backyard table with a scope) the Gosky is now my favorite scope. It is characterized by clarity and sharpness over long distances. Comparing the two models is like comparing apples to oranges. I'm just comparing them as they are the only ones I have experience with and I may be able to help someone else with a solution. Roxant costs around $80 and Gosky around $140. Specs also differ significantly, with Roxant listed as 12-36x50 and Gosky as 20-60x80. If your distance is a few hundred meters, save your money and choose Roxant. If you're looking for a scope that's really good at focusing at long range, consider the Gosky (or a competitor with similar specs). I see some scopes that are 15x more expensive than this similar spec Gosky. Specs and I'm wondering what these scopes offer that this Gosky doesn't have (maybe a better tripod, night vision?). If someone experienced with spotting scopes could shed some light on a comparison of the significantly more expensive models, that would be helpful.
