Review on 🏒 NHL Van Metro 22-ounce Sports Bottle: Ultimate Hydration for Hockey Fans by David Ruwala

I really wanted to like this bottle as my options for my team are very limited. Other than that, I cannot recommend this item at all. The first problem you will encounter with this bottle is the very strong chemical plastic smell. I've had my bottle for about 1 week now, during that time I've washed and air dried it repeatedly and it still holds that scent. I hand washed it every time because I was pretty sure the dishwasher would melt it. I even put some vinegar in the wash to get rid of the smell but it still lingers. I was hoping that while it still smells it might not affect the taste of the water inside so I finally tried it yesterday and unfortunately the contents have a chemical aftertaste. I survived the bottle though as at the time it was my only option without leaving where I was cycling and heading home. I'm glad I went ahead and used it because I found that and when that smell goes away this bottle still won't work because it leaks like a strainer. Every time you turn the bottle upside down to drink, water will come out from under the rim of the cap when you turn it back upside down. Not a ton of water but enough to soak the entire neoprene sleeve with about 1/4 of the bottle's contents. It was NOT comfortable on a cold day and not what I expected from a $15 bottle. Eventually everyone bought this bottle for the case. No one bought this bottle because of the bottle itself, and I figured I could just throw in a trash bottle and find one at Dix or Walmart or whatever that fits up my sleeve and just move on. The problem is that the stitching and the quality of the neoprene sleeve itself are not very good. I can already say that the seams do not withstand prolonged use.
