Review on Caltric Carburetor for Honda TRX300 Fourtrax 300 (1988-2000) - Compatible Replacement by Steven Barbon

It didn't fit my car perfectly but it doesn't say it fits a 1986 model. I have no complaints about the product. After some modifications the quad works like new again. I'm only writing this review to let others know what needed to be done to make it work on a 1986 Fourtrax. First, the fuel line is on the opposite side of the OEM. So I had to replace the OEM. No problem as the OEM was old and fragile anyway. The choke size varied, but it comes with its own choke. So I just replaced the factory part that screws into the carb with the one that came with it, as well as the choke needle. The biggest problem was the gas cable. I had to drill a hole in the new spike with an 11/64 drill bit and tap it with a 10x1.25mm tap. Then the OEM cable was screwed on directly. I looked at the 1986 model and it looked identical to this one. (I accidentally ordered the wrong one). Others have also reported similar issues with the models it is designed to match.
