If you buy this coffeemaker, the first thing you should do is remove the spring-loaded plastic stopper which cuts off the flow of coffee when you remove the pot to grab some java before it's finished brewing. It's easy--you just pull off the little translucent rubber washer which holds the stopper in the drip basket, then the stopper and spring just come out.I'm not sure how they messed up the design of this, as virtually every drip coffeemaker made since I was a kid has had that feature but this one makes it more difficult to slide the pot in place in the first place and, as others have complained, sometimes it doesn't let the coffee flow into the pot properly, so the drip basket fills up inside making a mess and getting grounds all over.Aside from that, the coffeemaker works like a charm and is nicely styled. The grinder does a good job and is quieter than most other grinders I've used (that's not to say it's quiet, but it is a grinder after all--you can't grind coffee beans without making noise).It's pretty small, which is great from a counter space viewpoint, but if you like a mug of coffee in the morning and want to make one for someone else as well, you're barely going to get one mug a piece, if that. Still it's a great way to get a cup of fresh ground coffee quickly and easily.Clean-up was better than I expected---pretty much just detach the brew parts and run them under the tap. Although there are three separate parts (lid, mesh filter and grinding/brewing chamber), they all wash out quickly and easily. It takes me just about as long to dump out the paper filter and rinse the drip basket of our bigger coffeemaker.
