I'm upgrading my earthquake bag and this is perfect for what I need. It's lightweight and easy to use. One thing to keep in mind is to use the internal battery and toggle the side switch so it's not on the AA battery. You will need 3 AA batteries for backup, but they are not required. It is powered by an internal non-AA battery. The hand crank is easy and gets the job done. The light is bright. FM radio works but AM hasn't figured it out yet. It's not waterproof, so don't try! But I can recommend this radio.
