It's always good to be prepared for emergencies and now I'm with this radio. I charged it up and within hours it was able to charge my phone, provide a high power flashlight and a reading light! The siren sounds very loud and the radio is easy to tune and sounds surprisingly clear. I look forward to trying out the solar charging feature the next sunny day and I love the fact that the solar panel has to last 25 years! I feel totally safe with this little radio (it fits in my hand!)

I'm upgrading my earthquake bag and this is perfect for what I need. It's lightweight and easy to use. One thing to keep in mind is to use the internal battery and toggle the side switch so it's not on the AA battery. You will need 3 AA batteries for backup, but they are not required. Lighter and smaller than expected. Also louder than I expected. The sound quality is pretty much what you would expect from a transistor radio. The flashlight is bright enough for emergencies. Panic alarms are LOUD - frighteningly LOUD. Came with a partial charge, it took another 1.5 hours to fully charge. First impressions are that the radio has some weight which makes it look well built. I put in 3 lithium ion batteries which are not included. Try a flashlight that has sufficient brightness.
