Review on Portable NOAA Emergency Weather Radio - Hand Crank Solar Weather Alert Radio with AM/FM, LED Flashlights, SOS Alarm, Reading Lamp, USB Charger - Ideal for Household and Outdoor Emergencies by Amber Fox

Love it! for radio

Lighter and smaller than expected. Also louder than I expected. The sound quality is pretty much what you would expect from a transistor radio. The flashlight is bright enough for emergencies. Panic alarms are LOUD - frighteningly LOUD. Came with a partial charge, it took another 1.5 hours to fully charge. I will keep the AA as a fallback with the ends sealed to prevent leakage during storage. The hand crank will give you 15-20 weather forecasts (as advertised) after 3-5 minutes start. I have not tried the reading light other than to confirm that it works. I haven't tried the solar panel yet. PERFECT for my BOB for height, weight and function. I will discharge the battery at least every 6 months to keep it alive, I will report back in time with more details on the battery life, the lifespan of the 3-AA Duracell, the actual performance of the handle and charging from the solar battery. It will take time as the hunting season ends my primitive camping this year. January back in the woods. I will report and update ALL my reviews!
