I'm so tired of the flimsy garage door opener button that comes standard on almost all automatic garage door openers. The stick button is tiny and needs to be pressed that way - if you touch it with a sliding touch it won't work. One day when I had to push 5 smelly times to open the garage door, I knew it was time for a serious button. This button did it. I had to carefully drill holes in the plastic panel cover - the covers break easily, and the holes need to be the right size. But I managed, and the most amazing thing is that this big button is perfectly happy when pressed with a sliding touch. No matter how I hit him, he always opened the door. This is how it's done! (Note: the original button included a backlight, but I didn't bother. I don't need it, don't miss it, and don't worry. But if you think about it, your local building code may require a backlit button.)
