I use them to drill pilot holes in metal. Dip the drill into the oil and then drill the hole. 1/4" steel needs a second dip. This saves me from blunting the signature set. Keep it lubricated, work slow and the bit stays sharp. The bits I dulled were my fault. Would buy again , but I doubt I would need them.
