This is the third iPhone case I've bought (iPhone 10s Max) - I'm very hard on holster cases as I attach them to door frames and other things like splitting wood, chainsaw and other things prevent physical activity (I live in rural Vermont) and these cases were very severe compared to other cases. I bought two more almost identical cases from other manufacturers and each broke within a few months. They usually last around 18 months on me, but for a normal person they'll probably last as long as you have a phone. I prefer holsters because you don't need a screen protector - yes, they're a little boxy. My wife carries her phone around and used Otter cases (great but too big) and now uses Speck but both need screen protectors. I highly recommend this case - note that the new 10s Max case differs from the old Plus cases in that it snaps the phone in place instead of sliding, which looks even more durable given the thin, curved edges of the old ones Cases usually broke. but the little latch sticks out a little.
