More and more computer monitors have a DisplayPort input, but sometimes you need to connect an HDMI-only device. This adapter solves this problem when using a mid-bandwidth video signal, but failed to maintain stability as it neared its advertised 4K 60Hz capabilities. Monitor. With the default refresh rate of 75Hz, the video bandwidth requirement for this setting is about 1Gbps less than for a 4K 60Hz signal, so the adapter could have easily handled that. Unfortunately, the result was unusable because the screen flickered several times a minute. The adapter signal becomes stable if I lower the WQHD+ refresh rate to 60 Hz or keep the 75 Hz refresh rate but reduce the resolution to 2560 x 1440. That's better than nothing, but of course I prefer to use the full potential of my monitor. I've also tried using a shorter DisplayPort cable, plugging in the dongle's extra USB port, and testing on a different PC - none of that made things any better. Overall, this adapter gets the job done at a medium resolution/refresh rate, but I doubt it can deliver a clean signal at the advertised 4K 60Hz resolution, which requires even more bandwidth than the WQHD+ 75Hz I was trying to achieve . I give this adapter three stars because it is functional but does not deliver what it promises.
