These curlers have changed my life. My hair is long and layered, thick and curly. Any other hair roller gives me curls and I don't want curls. I like to wrap curlers around my hair to straighten and straighten it while I run and get ready in the morning. Every inch of my curly hair needs a heat treatment after blow-drying, and I don't have time to get up and use a flat iron to straighten every strand of hair on my head. You are perfect. I'd read bad reviews about not being able to hold them in my hair with bobby pins, but I figured if I had to wrap aluminum foil around each roller to hold them in my hair, I would. Nothing stopped me from using these videos! Here's a trick I came up with to keep them indoors. Roll them up naturally to the head, then use one of Conair's white roll clips (sold separately) each with 30 teeth on the bottom of the roll. Then use the clips that come with these reels which have four very long teeth on the top of the reel and also on the bottom clip in addition to gripping the reel you are attaching. Voila! he will stay After a few tries, you should be able to quickly curl your hair, then pull to brush it and walk away. You get a height that is so good for the scalp. I took out one roll and replaced it with a larger roll from another set to use in the crown for extra height. Then I just smooth the end of that curl. I'm not sure how they work with other hair types but if you have crazy hair like mine that you want to smooth and straighten look no further.
