I finally had to replace my original Culligan unit with this one. Well, nothing lasts forever, but 15 years of service, filter changes and hard water in my well, that was the time, mostly because the clear plastic got so dirty you could hardly see the filter, mind you 15 years of full service. We live in a country house and I use this as a pre-filter from my well to my house. Note: Install in series after the surge tank (you can have more flexibility if you install a booster pump), not before or just between the surge tank and the wellhead. You can buy volumetric filters online for this size and any combination you want, I use these for sediment and then have a triple version under my sink for activated carbon filtration and a micro filter which I was surprised we compared to bottles in this test outperformed water samples I sent in.
