If you expect this to be a workaround for a 12V header on the motherboard. You are wrong. The SATA cable powers the hub but still needs to be connected to your cpufan or sysfan_1. And needs ARGB to connect to ARGB (5v) header, it says msi compatible. Well it doesn't work on my B450 Tomahawk Max. I had to connect it to the controller that came with my Coolermaster 3-in-1 fan kit (super crappy controller, I can't even connect it to my reset switch. Because I wanted blue I just set it to temperature and not plug in a thermometer) I bet it works SO well with a gigabyte mobile device or a device with an ARGB header. This error is more on my side, but it is also a description error.
