Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost perfect 5 stars but not quite

I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 and here's why: I won't lie to you, this scanner takes a bit of patience to get started but once programmed and working properly. So, the first thing you should do is read the instructions, scratch your head a little, and then read them again. After that, most likely connect the device to the computer, your computer won't recognize the Micro SD card and will ask you to format it. DO NOT format the SD card as it contains the operating files that the scanner needs to function. Third, and certainly last, tell your computer not to format the micro SD card, and then sit and stare at the open program screen, waiting for something to happen; nothing will stop staring at the screen. At this point, you need to find the micro SD adapter, remove the micro SD card from the scanner, insert it into the adapter, and then connect the adapter to your computer. At this point the program screen you were looking at comes to life, recognizes the scanner, gives you a serial number and allows you to register your scanner. After registering the scanner, a code will be sent to you along with your email address. Enter the code received by email into the scanner program and old, now you can update the scanner and download the model for free. I did this for a Hyundai/KIA and it worked flawlessly. It is important to note that updates and downloads are stored on the micro SD card and not on the scanner itself. I left the micro SD card connected to both the computer and the scanner and when I put the micro SD card back into the scanner everything updated and loaded. As I said before, the scanner worked perfectly. My problem was actually the anti-lock braking system of my KIA. I had previously done some troubleshooting and narrowed the problem down to a faulty wheel speed sensor, but I had to be 100% sure because the sensor was quite expensive. Not only did this scanner identify the same sensor as faulty, but it also showed a few more codes in the ABS that I wasn't expecting. I took care of the extra codes and ordered a new wheel speed sensor. Thank goodness this is the easiest sensor to replace. *I just think: It would be a good idea to back up your micro SD card to your computer; just in case something accidentally happens to your card. At least one of the files is read-only, so temporarily change its properties to copy it to your computer.
