This unit is very well built, sturdy and durable. The sockets appear to be of high quality as I have noticed the quality when plugged in. The assembled block has no play, the clamps hold the block tightly, so the plugs of the cable can be easily connected and disconnected. They included two screws for each mounting clip, so you'll need to pre-drill four small holes with a toothpick-sized drill. Note: The clamps are first attached to the wall or surface, and then the device is inserted or removed from the clamps without tools. You want the clamps to be measured so that when the device is attached they are about 9 inches in on each end. Block where I wanted and used pencil marks to mark where I would mount the clips. Then, while holding the clamps over the marks, I marked the holes to be pre-drilled for the clamps. I bought this unit to hang on the wall behind my computer desk. The cables for all the computer equipment were tangled on the floor. The worst part about all those cords on the floor was that they blocked the heat convection of our hot water baseboard and secondly they were a nuisance to clean as the cords are hard to vacuum, vacuum under and whatnot. Setting this extension just below table height kept it out of sight and resulted in all those cables being pulled off the floor. Also, with my desk on wheels, I can now easily access all cables and turn the entire device on or off when needed. The device has surge protection and a switch is also used to reset the device if it ever trips. The switch is illuminated dark red and is easy to find in a dark room. The device is painted black and the sockets are white. With white sockets they are easy to find as they don't blend into each other as if they were black. YES, I would buy this extension again.
