Review on HP P22Va G4 21.5" Business Monitor - 1920X1080P, 60Hz, Anti-Glare, Wall Mountable by Jonathan Wolfe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

excellent picture - the sound from the built-in speakers sucks

This is a very good monitor - very easy to unbox and set up. On the front of the monitor is a full page of pictures for assembling the base. Assembly couldn't be easier - it takes less than a minute. Advantages: 1) The monitor is easily adjustable up and down (height from the table) and can be rotated to the desired viewing angle. 2) great picture. Since I'm not a gamer, I can't say anything about playability. 3) very nice monitor 4) easy assembly Cons: 1) joke - the sound is terrible. Like out of a tin can. And very low volume, although I finally figured out how to adjust it (see below). Even the cheapest computer speakers you can buy from Wallieworld are a huge improvement. My advice is to forget built-in speakers and buy cheap computer speakers. There is also no volume control on the monitor. Volume must be adjusted through the monitor's complex menus (see below). If you buy this monitor, do yourself a favor and buy a set of speakers along the way. 2) Controls: At the bottom behind the monitor (where they are not visible - you have to feel them) are 4 small unlabeled buttons for adjusting the picture and sound. Finally, in desperation, I went to the HP website and downloaded and printed out the 26-page "User's Guide" to understand how to use the controls. Tip: You can adjust the volume (sort of) by using the #4 button and then working through some menus. My default volume was set to 50%. Even setting it to 100% didn't help much. Are you kidding us, HP? Do you spend a minute fiddling with the tiny invisible buttons and scrolling through the menu just to turn it on or off? So for the price, you can't go wrong with this monitor for the picture quality and ease of setup. Just be sure to buy those computer speakers at the same time.
