This laptop has a little over 4 stars, while some other similarly priced and comparable monitors from Spectre, Lenovo, and other brands hover around 4.5 stars. This got me thinking, but after looking at many 1-3 star reviews it was clear that most were harshly punishing the monitor for its allegedly weak audio performance. My laptop has a surprisingly decent sound, so the monitor speakers don't really bother me. Well, if my laptop wasn't sounding good, I would just plug my laptop into a Bluetooth speaker, my old PC speakers, Bluetooth headphones, or even bloody hell my surround sound if I felt the urge. In my opinion, these ratings are too demanding. First impression: the time from opening the box to starting the monitor was less than 5 minutes. Thoughtful packaging and easy assembly - no screwdriver required. Comes with HDMI and Aux cable. ok, cool, i appreciate it, but still. First check out the monitor on my 38" x 24" desk and I'm happy with the size. The screen bezels are tiny, which looks nice and helps manage size. Another plus is that the base extends beyond the screen and doesn't push forward, which would take up valuable real estate in front of the monitor. The monitor and my laptop share a table very well, and there's plenty of room for an open laptop right in front of the monitor. I'm glad I went with a 23.8" monitor instead of a 20-22" as the last 1-3 inches make a noticeable difference in screen size. The design and style of the product is very stylish and it looks great on my desk. It definitely doesn't advertise its modest price point with its expensive and luxurious looks. Early Productivity: When I connected my laptop (a slightly upgraded Lenovo T440P Thinkpad, maybe a $400 laptop) to a monitor via HDMI, I was greeted by a large snowy owl staring at me (one of the photos Windows looks at beforehand). / when logging into the system). The picture turned out bright, the edges were sharp, and the owl's snow-white feathers looked like a real Snow Maiden. The contrast between the white color of the owl, its dark eyes and the brown color of the wood was great and everything looked realistic and accurate. After logging in, I went into the Windows display settings and made some simple changes to how the laptop should appear on the monitor. It was very easy and intuitive. battle scenes on the rings and planet earth) and I was immediately impressed. The screen matched the intense action/pace of LotR with no lag or stuttering. Tropical videos from planet Earth looked bright and true color, while the next cave video was quite dark and intense with moments of brightness. Here the monitor was a bit washed out due to the speed of some smaller creatures, especially when the animal's color was similar to the background color. Then I switched to Netflix and did a little browsing and chose Planet Earth again as there are so many amazing things to see on the show. Everything looked just as good, and in some cases even a little better. The speed of the animals didn't seem to blur like it does on YouTube (note: I haven't seen the exact same video so this is very anecdotal). When it came to text reading and more general web browsing, I was happy. The letters had sharp corners, and the extra amount of text fitting on the screen compared to my 14-inch laptop reduced scrolling. Satisfied with the video playback, I rotated the monitor (set the monitor to its maximum height, grabbed the edges of the screen, and rotated it). right) into a portrait. The twist was smooth and tight. Boy does it make for a long screen, but I'm sure I'll use it when working with long lists of data, programming, using Excel, etc. Glad I have an option. The audio is definitely weak. The volume is low, the sound sounds rather "superficial" and there is simply not much to tell. In my mostly quiet apartment, I was able to hear and understand audio from the monitor, but admittedly it didn't take long before I got back to my laptop audio. However, having at least one viable sound option as a backup is better than nothing. I typically give more points to any item that exceeds expectations for its primary function than I would penalize an air duct worker for including average to below average "extras" that are not critical to performance. If my computer chair gave me a back massage I'd be very pleasantly surprised, but if it had a bumpy seat, didn't rotate smoothly, and floated at a certain height, I wouldn't be so pleased. I choose a chair that I can sit comfortably in for hours, that swivels easily and quietly, and that easily adjusts in height. Knowledge of gaming technology, gaming experience, or even a game to test. Final Pros: Sleek aesthetic/design, stand swivels from landscape to portrait, tiny bezels, good brightness, dark blacks, effective range, easy and smooth tilt/height adjustments. Final negative points: weak loudspeakers, slight blurring with very fast video movements. Highly recommended!
