Not working as expected

I couldn't wait for this to arrive. Over the years I have tried variations that I or my husband have made. They weren't perfect, but pretty much got the job done. Then I saw this - and it seemed to fit my needs. Pros: Arrived quickly and was very easy to assemble. Cons: (1) B-pillar is very thin. When I wind up a skein of yarn, the center is about 1.75 inches in diameter. Not all threads twist and "hug" the column. This means that as long as the post and butler stay stationary, I have to pull the twine long enough to make it twist around the post. (2) Not all threads are heavy enough to make the butler's bottom spin. Again, I have to tug on the yarn to pull the yarn out of the skein, causing the skein to rotate even if the butler's bottom remains stationary.(3) Finally, I tried the heavy yarn hugging the post - and the spin Butler's is so sluggish that I have to stop and tug Bottom line - having spent a lot on this product I will again place pieces of 6" PVC pipe in the center of the cakes and place the pipe on a freestanding TP holder . The tube always hugs the yarn and rotates freely.

Pros
  • Made in China
Cons
  • Some bugs
