The unit comes with a modified bracket which is easy to remove as I replaced my existing dumb LED ceiling light and didn't. Fixing required. The only confusing part was figuring out how to put the light into adjustment mode. Eventually I found out that you have to turn the light on and off 3 times with the wall switch. Leave the light on at the 3rd switch. The light will start flashing, letting you know it's ready to connect to the internet. While you can use the wall switch to turn the light on and off, you get more functionality by leaving it on at the switch and controlling the light with your app. You can control several lights individually or as a group of lights. What worries me most about this light source (and pretty much every IoT device) is what will happen if my internet goes down. Requires at least a local Wi-Fi connection, but I'm not sure if you can create and save new programs when there's no internet connection. That's why I saved my old dumb flashlights for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
