I found I had to drill a countersink on the inside of the drawer front to compensate for the fact that the screw is slightly shorter than the handle. It was easy for me, but some might not be able to. Before ordering, measure the thickness of your drawer front at the location of this handle. If the wood-engaging thread is less than 1/4 inch, it's probably too short to use without countersinking. To do this, you need a drill that is slightly larger than the screw head. Drill the hole deep enough for the screw to go in enough to hold the handle in place. Be careful not to drill too deep. You may need to remove the drawer from the furniture/cabinet it is in to get the job done. If you're using it for a door knob, you shouldn't have a problem.
