This is exactly what I need to get rid of the surface mount magnet on the screen. This mounts easily with a 3/8 inch hole. The magnet is strong enough in case of a small gap in the door jamb or a slight misalignment. The steps are definitely not rotated by door noise like a screen door mount does.
