Review on ๐Ÿš› Gabriel G63673 White Ultra Truck Shock, Pack of 8 by Justin Abrams

One of my worst purchases!

I just bought these Gabriel Ultra shocks (G63673 and G63662) for my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 4x4. After installing the dampers, I took the truck for a test drive and it drives terribly. Now it's much worse than with the old shock absorbers. I hear a rattle/clatter while driving and the wheels rattle over small bumps. So much so that driving on the freeway is scary. Big bump performance is better than older shock absorbers. When I drive through a dip at an angle, the truck bounces much less than with the old dampers. From what I can tell, the shocks (front and rear) appear to be loose where they attach to the truck, allowing the shocks to move. If someone hits the rear bumper while I watch the shock absorbers move, I can see that there is a lot of dirt on the bolts. It looks like the shock eyelet is larger than the bolt diameter. The front dampers are worse than the rear ones. I can take the bolt on the front shock by hand and move it to where it attaches to the front shock bracket. To install the front shocks, I removed the old shocks and installed the new ones using the hardware that came with them. The hardware included was for the top mount only. I installed the bottom washer, rubber bumper, shock mount, adapter washer, rubber bumper, top washer and nut. I tightened the nut on the bottom of the threads on the bolt. The rubber bumpers don't seem to be compressed as much as on the old shock absorbers. The front shocks didn't come with bottom mount hardware, so I installed the shock with an old bolt and nut. As far as I know, there were no fasteners on the lower mount of the old shock absorbers either. To install the rear shocks, I removed the old shocks and installed new ones using the old nuts and bolts. There was no new equipment with the new shock absorbers. As far as I know, the old shocks didn't have any hardware that I had to reuse. I sent a few emails to Gabriel's support team and didn't even get a response. Biggest waste of time and money.
