First impression: Nice colors. Durable Metal. Once it's shaped to fit your finger, it doesn't need to be adjusted often; So I believe that they will not break easily. It takes a little getting used to, but not too uncomfortable. Your pinky controls the tension/how much slack to loosen (as usual). The ring helps with consistency. PRO: Compared to crocheting without a ring, the yarn no longer sticks to dry skin on the index finger; moreover, the skin does not dry out from frequent winding of the yarn over the finger. Below is my rating of each ring style after use. Ordinary swan: the safest. Works great with #4 worsted yarn; not tested with thicker yarns. The loop behind the tail and then around the neck works very well. That is my favourite. Fish: I couldn't understand that when I bought it. (1) It worked by simply throwing the yarn over the fish so it rests on the ring. (2) Turning the fish head to the palm of your hand (upside down) this worked very well, passing the line under the tail and then over the fish head to find the guide notch between the whiskers and the lower fin. Fancy Swan: Works best with the yarn just caught on the swan's neck as the yarn moves more freely. The most beautiful; but my alternative to the regular swan is easier to use. Suitable for bulk yarn.
