Mares booties are the gold standard for many instructors and for good reason. Grippy but soft sole, good zippers and good fit. You will feel sharp and pointy stones but the sole will hold up. They are a little big for a narrow foot but bend slightly for a wide foot like mine (especially when wet). My feet are US size 10.5-11 and size 10 fits me perfectly. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of rubber padding on the top of the foot which could have made the booties more durable and comfortable. But I have a high arch and the pockets of my open heel fins put a little pressure on the tops of my feet. But on the other hand it's a very personal mix of issues with my fins, my anatomy and these boots.
