Bought a pair of these, installed one outside the shower and one inside the shower with Moen SeucreMount
I bought two of these for my fiberglass shower. I chose a machined surface to provide a better grip than a smooth surface. The wall was enough for me to install one of these outside the shower for easier entry into the shower. Another I had to install in a fiberglass shower. A fiberglass shower makes installation much more difficult. The fiberglass shower does not border the pillars; There is a gap between the fiberglass and the bolt. I finally settled on the Moen SecureMount for the shower rod. You can read about my experiences with SecureMount in a separate test report.
