Replaces my heavy hand vacuum cleaner

We live in a 3000 sf house in the Seattle area and we have a golden retriever so a lot of long hair, dirt and yard debris were brought into the house. The floor consists of carpet, wood, tiles and rugs. We used an upright Eureka Multicyclonic Pet and a Shark Rocket. I wanted something lighter than Eureka that also cleans well and is less fiddly to use. Shark Apex Uplight pretty much covers it all. Lighter, absorbs as well as Eureka, works great on all floors. It is nimble due to its flexible head and penetrates more places than the Eureka. I used the Rocket to get places the Eureka can't, so I needed two vacuums. Now I can do almost anything with one. Exception are stairs. I use the Rocket with the shaft portion removed (the bottom head connects directly to the motor/dust cap) for easier handling. This is not an option with Apex Uplight. Other things I like compared to the Eureka are the longer cord, headlights and most notably the self-cleaning brushroll. The main problem with both the Eureka and Rocket is the frequent need to remove dog hair, carpet fibers and other items from the brush roll. Almost nothing has stuck to the Apex Uplight brush roll so Shark seems to have sorted it out. The dust cap is smaller than the Eureka but easier to empty. It is no problem for me. The head is also narrower than the Eureka, meaning it can be moved back and forth more to cover the same area, but because it's lighter, smaller, and more maneuverable, it's still more comfortable to use and can penetrate more sites. The standalone option is an improvement over the Rocket, which needs to be leaned against a wall or furniture, but that's never been a big issue for me. Finally, the floorhead doesn't have height adjustment, but it works well on everything from tile to shaggy carpets. One article less. As for durability, I've only had the Apex Uplight for a week. But the Rocket has held up really well and the Apex Uplight seems to be built the same or even better, so I'm expecting a good lifespan. There is also a 5 year guarantee. All in all this is a very well thought out vacuum that has successfully replaced my other two vacuums in everything but the stairs. Recommended for almost every household. I didn't think I could replace the cleaning ability of a high power vacuum with a stick vacuum, but I'm on the mend. Shark currently offers Apex Uplight for $200 directly through its website, which is a good deal while it lasts. .
