I needed a new adapter to connect my second Mac monitor to my new MacBook Pro. It annoys me that Apple keeps changing plugs/adapters etc in their products. When I first plugged this in, the screen lit up, then went off after a while. It went on and on the first day. Now it seems to work more reliably, I don't know what the problem was on day one. Either this thing or the cable to the second monitor is cranky, I've noticed that if I accidentally bump into the cable it sometimes causes the second monitor to turn off. If I just unplug the adapter and plug it back into the Macbook, it usually works fine again. I've had it for about a week and a half and so far it's been working reliably as I can get my work done etc. I just wish Apple wouldn't make it difficult for me to connect their own older, perfectly working monitors to the new MacBooks
