Review on Pawise Transparent Cat Safety Net And Dog Fence Netting For Window Stairs And Balcony, Anti-Fall Pet Net (6M X 3M) by Leonard Babers

It is in fact rectangular - you just. Wed to fuss with it!

It’s a handful to get initially situated, but in fact it is rectangular! The ends that look like they are tapered just need fully extended. We were very frustrated to begin with but put hooks all around top and bottom of balcony and just kept pulling, stretching, adjusting, until by end of day we did have a close layout going on and it is in fact correct shape and size. We left it stretched out over hooks overnight and today we will run the cord through. We are going to double or triple folding the edges over and run cord thru that for extra strength. We are then going to staple the corded hemlines to the balcony itself. I am a little skeptical of its strength and may add a second net over this later. I really like that mine is clear. The aesthetics are important as I don’t think my new apartment mgmt would tolerate one very visible. If they did, my gut instinct would go for a thicker more robust netting. My Norwegian Forest Cat is a beast and is used to being able to go in the yard and edges of forest, so she is not going to be a happy girl. She is getting older and less athletic w some arthritis as well has had many teeth removed, so those things will likely prove beneficial in this regard. I am thinking I will put dowel rods at both front corners of the netting, from rail top to balcony ceiling to help it maintain shape and minimize looseness and improve aesthetics. I will likely put trellis vertically at both balcony ends (sides) for added security and strength, as those are the areas she would most likely try to tear at netting. The balcony is slatted from rail to floor which will help hold its shape but I may use zip ties as opposed to stapling as it will hold net less rigid making it a bit harder for her to chew on or claw through. I’ll add pics and follow up later.

Pros
  • Give it as a gift.
Cons
  • Oddly shaped and smaller than stated. Made it impossible to use.

I almost returned this item because it looked so flimsy- basically fishing wire. I re-read reviews and decided to move forward with installing it. I suppose it is going to be thin to allow for minimum visibility, which is nice to have for a balcony. Instalation was fairly easy and took some adjusting and stretching but the net has worked perfect and my cats are safe on the balcony now. I would recommend getting some bird blinders which I didn''t think about until after I had the net up.
