If I ride without it, I can feel a noticeable difference. I use a Barefoot treeless saddle on a 21 yo KMSH with saddle fit and back issues. With the pad, my saddle has no slippage and my horse moves out freely. Without it, he seems uncomfortable and a little short strided, not to mention that my saddles rolls.
