A friend recommended I buy three of these units a few years ago when we installed our new home theater in 2011. I wanted clean power for my new TV, receiver, and all other connected components, and these outlets got the job done. They require them to be at the end of the circuit, or in my case I connected each of them to separate breakers. They cannot be daisy-chained like traditional sockets, so be aware of this before purchasing. How well these outlets work was tested about a month later in 2011 when Hurricane Irene swept through the city. The electricity in my house has "failed" at least a dozen times, with varying degrees of severity, but all of the components plugged into those outlets have never faltered, not in the slightest. Power to components is clean, stable, and shock-resistant, and when Hurricane Sandy hit last year, power went out to the house at least a dozen times again, but components never went below a clean, stable 110 volts. (And yes, I'll admit I was one of the lucky ones whose house didn't completely lose power, but I wouldn't be able to write this review if I did.) My plan for moving and home office makeover will be the Installation includes at least at least two more such sockets in separate circuits for my computer, printer and scanner. So, with a little work, these outlets will provide clean, stable, and surge-proof power to whatever electrical devices you plug in, giving you at least some peace of mind in even the worst of storm conditions.
