Revainrating 4 out of 5

Be careful getting in and out of this tent around the wood stove

I give this tent 4 stars for a few quality features. Would have given 5 stars except for the placement of the door. I tested the tent in the rain, and now a fun weather phenomenon that started out with 45 degrees Fahrenheit, no wind and clear skies and ended in a full snow storm at 55 mph. Winds and temperatures drop to -2 degrees Fahrenheit. Pros: 1 never leaked out in rain, sleet, freezing rain, or melting snow when the stove heated it. 2 Withstands wind conditions gusting in excess of 55 mph. 3 roof vents provide excellent airflow and reduce condensation. 4 support points have adjustable lines so it can be easily set up on uneven terrain. 5 Easy to pitch inner tent Cons: 1 No access to adjust the roof vents from inside the tent. It is not pleasant to open a tent in the middle of a blizzard or heavy rain to block an opening where rain or snow is blowing. 2 door accommodation. Winter gear is bulky, and if you're a big guy like me, getting to a wood stove can be tricky. 3 no adjustments to fix the inner tent better. If they moved the door a panel further away from the oven nest this tent would easily get a 5 star rating for the price range it is in. Stove in it unless you are very comfortable with other adults who may be in with you and you need to be careful getting in and out of the tent near the wood stove. Last note: I'm 6ft 4in. I won't stretch out in this tent, but it won't let me sleep in the fetal position either.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
