Bought USB 2.0 because (in FAT32 format) that's what the Fire Stick needs to play USB video (along with a cheap "Cable Micro USB Host OTG Power over Micro USB for Fire Stick" or similar connector). (Actually, I have a TCL Roku TV, which plays USB videos smoothly and unlike the Fire, is USB 3.0 and NTFS compatible. But I need versatile playback features in terms of *visual* speed, searching forward, backward, etc (- what Roku's sole media player frustratingly lacks. So a Fire Stick plus the free VLC player app was a viable option.) Anyway, the PNY sliding lid was *a little* difficult to open, but it seems pretty *impossible* to force it CLOSE UP. Was ready to return. Then I tried using the table as a lever (with the plug down) and it worked. After doing this a few times, the lid now slides easily in either direction. It works well so far and is good value.
