Review on 🍳 HomeMall Digital Dual Kitchen Timer – Cooking Timer with Count Up & Down, Magnetic Back, Large Display, Adjustable Volume, Flashing Alarm Light, ON/Off Switch Stopwatch, Battery Included by Allison Watson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Decent timer with one fatal flaw: the magnets do NOT hold it to the steel side of the fridge

β€’ β€’ β€’ Rating corrected on 08/22/20 β€’ β€’ β€’ I'm increasing my rating from one to two stars due on the Warning, it's very loud - loud enough that I can hear it throughout the house. This is a great feature.––––––––––––––––––––––––––– This timer works normally. It does everything I want the dual timer to do. However, its fatal (one star) downside is that it will NOT stick to the wall of my steel-sided fridge without sliding to the bottom. The magnets just aren't strong enough. Oddly enough, they are also embedded in the plastic casing, which reduces their fixation. I'm keeping this product because I accidentally had some (VERY strong) rare earth magnets lying around which I put on top of the existing, weak ones. Holds up very well. I also had to trim the bottom to make it flat using some cheap self-adhesive plastic bumpers on the fridge side. Well, since I don't think most people will have rare earth magnets available, you can also use sticky or self-adhesive magnet pens (available at craft stores) to solve the weak magnet problem. However, the products must be ready for use and must not require any modification for proper use. If the manufacturer uses strong enough magnets that hold really well, I would give this little timer 4 stars. As it came, it only gets one star. It's a shame, because otherwise the timer works quite well.
