This is a good stool, the black finish is very nice and overall it is of excellent quality and very durable. But don't let the thick red vinyl seat fool you, there's only a very thin layer of padding over it, which very quickly shrinks to nothing after you've sat on it for a few minutes. Unless you have a lot of "built-in" cushions, this stool will quickly become uncomfortable. It's not a big deal to me since I only use it for small, quick tasks in my garage, but if you plan on sitting on it for any length of time, expect it to feel like you're sitting on an old-fashioned wooden table on top .
