Stool wobbles a little when raised 1/3; I need it to fully raise for my reloading press. If you plan to lift and turn the seat while you work, you could lose your balance. You know how you catch yourself when you lean too far back in a wooden chair? This is what it looks like. I don't have to worry about abs, so I probably won't. The craftsman screwed it up by outsourcing these stools to China. I also paid $130, which would be fair for traditional Craftsman quality, but it's not.

This is a good stool, the black finish is very nice and overall it is of excellent quality and very durable. But don't let the thick red vinyl seat fool you, there's only a very thin layer of padding over it, which very quickly shrinks to nothing after you've sat on it for a few minutes. Unless you have a lot of "built-in" cushions, this stool will quickly become uncomfortable. I only gave 5 stars because everything that counts was 100% perfect. Even the little rattles in the big metal hoops were either empty or could come out with a little shake. No physical defects were found during assembly. The box inside the shipping box looks like it was damaged by a forklift. I was very worried so I took photos. It was not opened as the original protective tape was still attached to an undamaged area, suggesting that no one had checked the inside of the product for damage. But…
